January App Challenges
Jump Start January
Join us for a 21-day fitness adventure! Your goal is to participate in at least one group exercise class each day for 21 days. With so many amazing classes at the Y, this is the perfect opportunity to explore new workouts, meet other members, and have fun while staying active.
Take 21 group ex classes within the month of January to earn Y rewards. Log your exercise class through your linked fitness app or manually under track workout.
2025 = 20 minutes of cardio, 2x a week for 5 weeks
Time to take 2025 into high gear with 20 minutes of cardio, 2 times a week, for 5 weeks. Whether you take an exercise class, swim laps or hit the track, you're on your way to Y rewards!
Log 20 minutes of cardio (exercise class, walking, running, or swimming), twice a week for five weeks to earn Y rewards with your linked fitness app or manually under track workout.
Start the new year by building strength and confidence!
Complete 3 strength building workouts each week in the month of January. Choose from group classes, small group training, personal training, personal workouts or a mix.
Here's some weekly goals:
Week 1: Build a Foundation (light weights, focus on form).
Week 2: Increase Intensity (add reps or weight).
Week 3: Explore New Movements (incorporate different exercises).
Week 4: Test Your Limits (track progress with a personal challenge).
Complete 3 strength building workouts each week in the month of January, track through your linked fitness app or manually under track workout and earn Y rewards.
How to find the challenges:
1. Open your PhilaYMCA Mobile App
2. Click the "Challenges" tile on the home screen.
3. Browse available or upcoming challenges. You can see challenge info, rules, and leaderboard info for each option.
4. Click "Join Challenge" for any option you'd like to participate in.
5. Follow the steps under "Rules" to log your workout correctly.

Every challenge completed or workout tracked earns you Y rewards points you can cash in for great prizes like water bottles, sport belts, totes, and MORE!
