As a pillar of the YMCA's values, our youth development programs are built to support kids and teens in a variety of ways. Y Achievers is a national college readiness program designed to help teens through academic support, career exploration, and mentoring. This program is free and available for teens in the community.
Your donation to the Ambler YMCA allows us to offer programs, like Y Achievers, which have helped to create the foundation for success for many teens in our area.
Justin's Story
My name is Justin. I am an Ambler Area Y community member and Adult Achiever. I am excited to share my experience in the Y Achievers Program.
The Achievers Program presented me with opportunities to create amazing friendships with those who shared similar goals. Y Achievers afforded support and encouragement of career and educational exploration which led to opportunities for new learning and experiences. Growth was the natural outflow, allowing me to be the adult I am today.
Y Achievers is not simply a program. Y Achievers is a family, a support system, and a pathway to success. It equipped me with resources, and confidence to make a difference in the world.
Currently, I am a full-time software developer and remain in contact with some of the friends I made within the program. I am forever grateful for the experiences that the Ambler Area Y and the Y Achievers Program provided.
