Make heart health a priority in your journey to whole-body wellness!

Our partners at Corporate Wellness Nutrition shared their advice on how to make decisions to improve your heart health. These tips from a registered dietitian will help you get on the right track to maintaining your health.

1. Focus on Fiber

Add in beans, barley, pears, and oats to get a dose of heart-healthy soluble fiber each day.

2. Give Potatoes A Chance

Baked or roasted potato with the skin on has about 25% of your daily value of potassium which is important for maintaining healthy blood pressure. Roast with garlic and Italian seasoning for flavor and top with a dollop of low-fat plain Greek yogurt for a low-sodium, heart-healthy side!

3. Snack Smart

Eat a 1 oz serving of nuts and or seeds as a snack. They are filling, full of heart-healthy ingredients such as fiber and omega-3s, and provide crunch!

4. Participate In Meatless Monday

Try a meatless meal once per week. Tofu, edamame, or tempeh are some great options to try for a protein-rich, cholesterol-free meal that is also low in saturated fat.

5. Increase Your Intake of Omega 3s

Explore adding omega-3 rich fish into your diet; fresh/ frozen or even canned! Fish such as salmon, albacore tuna, sardines, or trout are some examples of high omega-3 fish. If you absolutely hate fish, talk to your registered dietitian about supplements that may be appropriate for you.
