Join us in supporting and riding alongside our team member, John, as he raises funds for our Annual Campaign!

At the Y, we are passionate about our mission. The work we do every day is not possible without dedicated staff like John Curcio. 

John joined the Y after a roofing accident left him paralyzed. The support from the community at the Spring Valley Y helped him regain his confidence and live a healthier lifestyle. He enjoys the Y so much, he joined our Fitness Department and has been helping change lives ever since.

John is hosting a 100-mile ride to support the Y's Annual Campaign. Each year the campaign provides support to a quarter of the members at the Spring Valley Y. John hand bikes 100 miles throughout the day to raise funds for our community. Help him reach his $15,000 goal by riding along and fundraising or making a pledge today.

Event Info:

John will be riding from 8:00 AM to around 6:00 PM, and you can join him! Jump on a bike in the main gym to ride for any number of miles or join a Group Ex class to workout alongside him.

Riding Through the Decades - John Turns 60!

 8:30 - 9:15 AM — 60's Strength with Martha

You’ll build and sculpt defined, lean and strong muscles while listening to the songs from the 60's. This class focuses on all the major muscle groups in the lower body, upper body, and core. 

9:30 - 10:15 AM — 70's Spin with Michelle

Ride to songs of the 70's while increasing your cardiovascular endurance, reducing body fat and increasing muscular strength. You'll travel on flat roads, climb hills, sprint and race! 

10:45 - 11:45 AM — 80's Aerobics with Marnie

This class is geared towards our Active Older Adults and will consist of varied exercises including walking, stretching, light strength training, low-impact aerobics while listening to the greatest hits of the 80's!

1:00 - 2:00 PM — 90's Fitness Fads with Celina and Jackie (Step and Tae Bo)

This throwback class will feature your favorite 90's fitness fads: step, Tae Bo and more step to the greatest hits of the 90's!

 2:00 - 4:30 PM — Dance Dance Revolution & Open Gym Ride

RPM™ is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity and it's low impact. With today's hits pumping and the group spinning as one, your instructor will take you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding.

We will be cheering on John in Gym A/B at the Spring Valley YMCA.
