The Willow Grove YMCA Twisters Level 8 Team delivered an outstanding performance at the USA Gymnastics Level 8 State Championships held at the Miller Center Lewisburg YMCA. The team showcased exceptional talent while securing multiple top placements and state titles.
Hannah Winters and Sydney Jones emerged as State Champions in their respective events, highlighting the Twisters' remarkable achievements. Winters claimed the top spot on Vault with a flawless performance, while Jones exhibited her mastery on the Beam, clinching the State title.
Winters continued to shine throughout the competition, securing additional podium finishes with a second-place All-Around performance and a third-place finish on Bars. Jones demonstrated her versatility, earning second place on Floor, further solidifying her status as a standout performer.
Juli Rudgunas displayed remarkable skill and consistency, securing second place on both Beam and Floor, contributing significantly to the team's success. Payten Sullivan and Toni Dallas showcased their skills with impressive routines, securing third place on Floor for both gymnasts.
The Twisters' stellar performance resulted in several gymnasts earning qualifications to the highly competitive Region 7 Championships, which will feature top gymnasts from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Regional qualifiers include Hannah Winters, Payten Sullivan, Sydney Jones, and Chava Trachtman.
The Region 7 Championships are scheduled to take place from April 19th to April 21st, 2024, at Ursinus College, offering an exciting opportunity for the Twisters to showcase their skills on a broader stage.
