The Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA Dedicates New Wellness & Training Complex For The Local Residents Of The Boyertown Community!

Key community leaders attend the dedication of the Gilbertsville Center’s new
5,000 square-foot Wellness & Training Complex

[GILBERTSVILLE, PA] May 13, 2014 – On Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10 AM, the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA will officially open the Gilbertsville Center’s new Wellness and Training Complex in the Gilbertsville community. This event will take place at the site of the Gilbertsville Center, located at 144 Holly Road, Gilbertsville, PA 19525. More than one hundred community members are expected to attend this fun-filled event.

On hand to participate in the formal event and welcome the new Wellness and Training Complex to the community will be John Flynn, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA, Marcy Toeple, Pennsylvania State Representative, Robert Mensch, Pennsylvania State Senator, Anita Meehan, Board Chair of the Boyertown YMCA, and many other prominent business and community leaders in Douglass Township.

Through a series of grants, lead supporters including the Berks County Community Foundation and the Pottstown Health & Wellness Foundation have donated more than $55,000 to support development of the new complex. This partnership will enable the Y to provide more opportunity for the local youth, families and adults to participate in sports and fitness programs in the new complex.

The 5,000 square-foot Wellness & Training Complex offers Y members and the Boyertown community a state-of-the-art indoor turf playing field, a group exercise and personal training mezzanine, batting cages and expanded program space.

In honor of the Gilbertsville Center’s Wellness & Training Complex dedication, youth from the Gilbertsville Center’s Pre-Kindergarten class will provide entertainment and lead Y donors, volunteers and staff in dedicating this new Wellness & Training Center. Local government and business leaders will close the special event with a ceremonial first pitch.
