[GILBERTSVILLE, PA] August 18, 2014, – On Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10 AM, the New Hanover / Hollenbach YMCA is hosting a Community Open House to showcase the Gilbertsville Center’s new Wellness and Training Complex. This event will take place at the site of the Gilbertsville Center, located at 144 Holly Road, Gilbertsville, PA 19525.
The 5,000 square-foot Wellness & Training Complex offers Y members and the Boyertown community a state-of-the-art indoor turf playing field, a group exercise and personal training mezzanine, batting cages and an expanded program space. Visitors will enjoy activities such as a tour of the facility, a moon bounce for the kids, a chance to take a few swings in the batting cages, wellness activities and more. In addition, anyone who becomes a member of the Y the day of the event receives a full waive of the joiner fee.
“We are excited to be able to offer this community such a unique facility,” says John Flynn, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA. “This new space enables the Y to serve the needs of more community members. As a result, local residents, schools and sports teams have access to more programs and the resources they need to continue living a healthy and active lifestyle.”
Through a series of grants and lead supporters, including the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation and the Berks County Community Foundation, have donated more than $55,000 to aid in development of the new complex. This partnership has enabled the Y to provide more opportunity for the local youth, families and adults to participate
