Abington YMCA Rebuilds Kids Zone Play Room After Fire
All are invited to join the Y at the Grand Reopening of the new 2,000 square-foot Kid Zone at the Abington YMCA.
[ABINGTON, PA] January 12, 2015 – The Abington Y will celebrate the re-opening of the Child Watch Center after a fire inside the room left smoke and water damage in November 2014. The Grand Reopening of the popular Kid Zone will take place on Saturday, January 18th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the new Child Watch site in the Abington YMCA located at 1073 Old York Road, Abington, PA.
More than 100 members are expected to attend this fun-filled event. On hand to participate in the celebration will be Sean Elliot, Group Vice President, Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA and other prominent community leaders in the township. The event is open to the community invited to visit the new Kid Zone, the 3-story play structure; enjoy refreshments, giveaways, tours of the Y, and special savings to join!
The Kid Zone playroom features a large, multi-level, structure of tunnels, slides, ropes and games. Kids will once again enjoy climbing, crawling, sliding and exploring, supervised by Y staff, while their parents work out in the facility. The 2,000 square foot space has separate play areas for infants, toddlers and kids up to 10 years old.

The Abington Y serves more than 10,000 members with the Kid Zone visited more than 20,000 times each year. The dedicated Kid Zone space provides a safe, fun place for thousands of children to play while their parents participate in their wellness and fitness routines.
