GOOD FUN. GREAT CAUSE.

Through special events

Each year the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA conducts two signature special events whose success would not be possible without the generous support of individual, corporate and community sponsors. The proceeds from our special events support the Y’s Annual Campaign which enables us to deliver vital programs and services to those in our local community that need them most.

ON COURSE FOR A GOOD CAUSE

GCDSIBC-New-Web

Overcast skies and a humid day didn’t stop 130 golfers from coming out for a fun day on the course as part of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley Annual Golf Classic at The Ace Club on Tuesday, June 28th. The rain held off and golfers enjoyed a 10:00 AM tee time with the afternoon wrapping up with appetizers, dinner and cocktails. The event, sponsored by Independence Blue Cross and Presented by Chubb and Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young, LLP raised over $200,000 to support the Y’s Financial Assistance Program.

Shaun Elliot, CEO of the PFVYMCA, shared remarks over dinner thanking sponsors and talking about the impact the money will have on our organization. Silver Fairway Sponsor, Johnson, Kendall and Johnson took home the first place Team Gross and Emerson Reid took first place Team Net.

Thank you for joining us on Friday, November 4, 2016 for the YMCA John Wanamaker Awards, as we celebrated and honored the outstanding achievements of Stauffer Glove & Safety, Marc Brownstein and Raymond Lukas.  Each of our 2016 honorees is a leader in our community – not only bettering themselves and their organizations – but also making significant contributions to improving the quality of life in the Delaware Valley. Whether in service to the YMCA or through other charitable organizations, these leaders demonstrate a tireless commitment to nurturing children, strengthening families, building strong communities and developing healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all.

Due to your generous support, the Y will have the necessary resources to provide Financial Assistance to those in our community who need it most. Financial Assistance allows access to membership, Day Camp and life-changing programs that many members in our community would otherwise not be able to afford. Your support of the John Wanamaker Awards provides more families, children and active older adults in our community the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the YMCA.

We hope you had a wonderful time at the event.  Click HERE to view photos of the evening.

Thank you for your support.  We look forward to seeing you again next year!
