SENATOR CASEY INTRODUCES NEW ACCESS HEALTHY NUTRITIOUS FOOD ACT AT THE CHRISTIAN STREET YMCA

WHAT:

U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) will lead discussion on the Access to Healthy Foods for Young Children Act, legislation that would help more vulnerable children in Pennsylvania and across the nation in home daycare programs access healthy, nutritious food.

WHY:

This new legislation will help organizations like the Y open up vital aid to more children from low income families who qualify for the Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and access healthy, nutritious meals and snacks.

This bill will help people see the expanded role the Y can play in supporting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility throughout our communities. The Christian Street Y is one of 18 Y locations under the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA serving more than 5,000 kids who currently benefit from the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
