Spring Valley YMCA


The YMCA’s recreational program setting provides a unique experience with an emphasis on sports, social interaction and fun. The Ability Initiative strives to reach youth with special needs in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas by providing them a safe place to grow and socialize in a nurturing environment.

Ability Programs

Ability Movement

Monday | 10:30-11:30am | Birth – 8 years
Tuesday | 4:15-5:15pm | Birth – 8 years
Wednesday | 11:30am-12:30pm | Birth – 8 years
Thursday | 4:45-5:30pm | Birth – 8 years

A whole body experience for children ages birth through 8 years old with physical and/or physiological challenges to run, jump and play with their peers.  Make new friends while having fun!  Participant must come with a caregiver.
Free for Full Privilege Members.

Friday Night with Friends

Friday | 6:30-8:00pm | Ages 18 & up
Join us for fun and socialization.  A different activity to enjoy each week, including: crafts, cooking, dances, swimming and holiday parties.  This is a great  opportunity to meet new friends!  Activities take place every Friday evening.  Registration is required.  For news, updates, pictures and more, like the Friday Night with Friends Facebook page.
