We offer a variety of different training groups that fit nearly every level of competitive or developmental swimmer.

The program is led by a coaching staff with a unique blend of skills, passion, and experience.

COMPETITIVE

YBCC Phoenix | Mt. Laurel YMCA

YBCC Phoenix is our competitive year round program. Swimmers in this program will attend both YMCA and USA Swimming Meets. Competitions will be local, regional, national, and travel meets are offered. Swimmers will be encouraged to move through the program as more physical training will be introduced as swimmers mature.

SENIOR I

Aug 21-July 27

FACILITY MEMBER: $2,004.00

Senior I is for High School swimmers. This group will offer the most training time: including water, mental preparation and dryland.  The coach’s expectations will be equal to that of each individual swimmer’s goals. This group is designed for those swimmers that aspire to qualify for YMCA Nationals, Middle Atlantic Senior Championships, and YMCA State Championships. Practice will extend into the summer: Mon – Fri.

SENIOR II

FACILITY MEMBER: $1,260

Senior II is for High School aged swimmers and proficient Middle School Swimmers. Practices will be held exclusively at the Mount Laurel YMCA. The group is designed for those swimmers that have after school activities and prefer to have a time that allows for other sports, clubs, and activities. This group is eligible to swim in YMCA meets as well USA Swimming Meets.

JUNIOR

This group is for our swimmers in Middle School grades six through eight. The group will focus on technique with a proper balance of physical conditioning and mental skills. The group will focus on YMCA dual and state meets with the opportunities of USA swimming meets including Junior Olympics and Zones.

AGE GROUP MT. LAUREL

Age Group Mt. Laurel is for Grade School students grades three through five. This group is technique focused with the introduction of physical conditioning.  Swimmers in this group will swim in YMCA Dual Meets, and depending on their times YMCA Bronze, Silver, or 12 & Under State Championships. They will also have the opportunity to swim in USA Swimming meets including Junior Olympics and Zones.

MINI

FACILITY MEMBER: $1,020.00

Mini is for swimmers in grades one and two (and younger)  who can swim one lap each of breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle. Time spent in this group will be in teaching fundamentals and mastering those fundamentals.  Swimmers in this group will swim in YMCA Dual Meets, and depending on their times either YMCA Bronze, Silver, or 12 & Under State Championships. They will also have the opportunity to swim in USA Swimming meets including Mini Championships, Junior Olympics, and Zones.

DEVELOPMENTAL

Tornado Swim Club | Mt. Laurel YMCA

The Tornado Swim Club at the Mt. Laurel YMCA is an introduction to the non-competitive Tornado Swim Club, swimmers will work on stroke development, technique and stamina.

2018 Winter Season: Jan 5 – Mar 9

Experienced coaches will work with swimmers in and out of the water to help them improve stroke skills, endurance and confidence. To join, swimmers must be able to complete one length of the pool. At the end of the session, there will be a end of session meet and party – all are invited to attend at the Burlington-Riverfront YMCA on November 18.  Swimmers will compete and show off their skills against one another and will follow with snacks and a chance to hang out with their teammates.

9 YEARS & UNDER

Facility Member $165
Program Member $330

As an introduction to competitive swimming, the Green Group will emphasize stroke technique and development, introduce basic race skills, and encourage comfort in the water.  Swimmers in the Green Group will be divided into three sub groups based on skill level.  This will allow natural development around others that are similarly skilled and progression towards a higher level in swimming.

10 YEARS & OLDER

For those swimmers interested in competitive swimming, but are not ready to compete, the Blue Team will help develop stroke technique, stamina, and the mental endurance needed for swimming.  Meeting twice a week, the Blue team will focus on the mechanics of the four strokes, introduce legal turns and starts, use interval training, and longer yardage sets.
