The Abington YMCA!

The Abington YMCA, serving Abington, Jenkintown, Cheltenham, Willow Grove and the surrounding communities, offers a wide range of programs for children and teens including swim lessons, sports, fitness, child care and day camps. For adults and seniors, the Y has personal training, a variety of group exercise classes, wellness orientations and free babysitting services.

Not only is the Abington Y the place for you to stay active and healthy, but is a safe, fun environment to make new friends and volunteer to help others. There are many programs and services offered at the Y each day to help all our community members learn, grow and thrive in their own unique way.

The Abington YMCA is a branch of the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA with a focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

Coffee with Cops at the Ambler Y

Sunday, May 18, 9-11 a.m. Join officers from the Lower Gwynedd Police Department in the Lobby for an informal chat to ask questions or voice your concerns. Coffee will be served.



The Abington Aquatics department has been teaching swim lessons for over 100 years.  We offer an vast array of private and group lessons for people of all ages.

Summer Camp


For more than 92 years the Abington Y has been making summer fun and exciting for children of all ages in our community.  A large variety of camps from specialty camps to traditional camps are all designed to nurture children throught the guiding principles of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.



The YMCA health and wellness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities.

Child Care

The Abington YMCA is pleased to offer care for your child in kindergarten through 6th grade attending a public school in the Abington School District.  The Before School Care program provides excelllent care for your child at your child’s schoool at 7:15 AM on days that Abington Elementary Schools are in session.  After care is also available from dismissal through 6 PM also at all Abington Elementary Schools.

Preschool childcare is available at the Abington YMCA for children ages 6 weeks through pre-Kindergarden.

Whatever program your child is enrolled in, you can be sure that they will receive special care, have fun and learn at the same time in a safe place.

For Youths & Teens


The Abington Y is the place to be for your teen!  Every 7th grader is eligibile for a FREE membership.  Through the Y Achievers program, teens may qualify for a free membership no matter what grade their in.  Achievers is a teen program designed to help give 5th to 12th graders the tools they need to success in college and beyond.
