Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA Celebrates Achievements Of Local Community And Business Leaders At The 2014 John Wanamaker Awards
Honoring the outstanding contributions of William R. Sasso, Yvette D. Bright & Walter D’Alessio
[Philadelphia, PA] November 4, 2014 –On Friday, November 7, 2014, the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA will host its annual John Wanamaker Awards Gala, honoring exceptional men and women for their tireless efforts to educate, motivate and positively impact individuals, organizations and local communities. This year’s honorees are Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP and William R. Sasso, Chairman; Yvette D. Bright, Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, Independence Blue Cross; and Walter D’Alessio, Principal, NorthMarq Advisors, LLC.
The 2014 John Wanamaker Awards will take place from 5:30pm-8:00pm at the elegant Loews Philadelphia Hotel at 1200 Market Street in Philadelphia. More than 500 people are expected to attend the event to pay tribute to these deserving honorees.
William R. Sasso, Chairman, Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP will receive the Corporate Award for Youth Development. Under Sasso’s leadership, Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young has been recognized as one of the regions premier law firms in the realm of corporate charitable giving and supporting nonprofit organizations and programs that empower children and youth.
Yvette D. Bright will be presented with the Individual Award for Healthy Living. Bright’s commitment to the Y is based on her belief that all children should have a safe, nurturing environment where they can grow and develop into healthy adults.
The Distinguished Service Award for Social Responsibility will be presented to Walter D’Alessio, Principal, NorthMarq Advisors, LLC. D’Alessio has been recognized as a “connector” of government, corporate and nonprofit sectors, thereby aligning his values and beliefs with the Y’s mission of giving back and bringing communities together.
All proceeds from the 2014 John Wanamaker Awards will provide financial assistance to one-in-four families that are served at the Y through the Annual Campaign. Through these donations more youth, adults, families and active older adults are able to participate in programs that encourage youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Together, we will make a meaningful, lasting impact right in our neighborhood.
