The Y is committed to serving individuals and families in Lower Providence Township including nurturing the potential of kids, improving health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our neighbors. As part of this shared commitment, the Audubon YMCA is pleased to provide outstanding School Age Child Care programming in the Methacton School District for the 2017-18 school year.

To further meet the needs of families, the Methacton School District and the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA are working together to ensure full-day child care is available in the event of an interruption to the school day.

If an announcement is made by the District, the Skyview Upper Elementary School will host YMCA child care days for all students in grades K-6. Here are the steps to ensure your child is enrolled in the Y’s School Aged Temporary Care program:

  1. All parents/guardians may pre-register using this linkIf you have not registered for Y programs in the past, please create a Y account before you pre-register.  Your pre-registration will be date and time stamped to ensure a first come, first serve system.Parents with children currently enrolled in the Y’s Before and/or After Care program(s) will automatically receive first choice, but are still required to register. Please pre-register early to make sure you get a spot.

What will my child do on child care days?

Our team will work with your child(ren) on age-appropriate activities such as sports, arts/crafts, music, fun experiments, gym games, board games etc.

We will place all children with their age-groups.  As we go through the day, each group will follow their schedule and rotate throughout the building to go to each activity.

A sample of a daily schedule:

9:00-9:45a        Activity Period 1 – Art/Crafts (in cafeteria)
9:45-10:30a      Activity Period 2 – Sports (in boys gym)
10:30-11:15a      Activity Period 3 – Free time at Game Station (in common area)
11:15-11:45a       Lunch (in cafeteria)
11:45a-12:00p   Clean up
12-12:45p          Activity Period 4 – Cooking activity (in classroom X)
12:45-1:30p      Activity Period 5 –Trivia Fun (east hallway)
1:30-2:15p        Activity Period 6 – Sports/Fitness (in girls gym)
2:15-3:00p        Kids Choice (in big gym)
3:00-3:30p       Snack and clean up

How do I register my child?

All registrations require 24-hour notice, please.  Please fill out the forms below and drop off at the Audubon Y Branch – 2460 Blvd. of the Generals, W. Norriton, 19403 or emailed to ABryans@philaymca.org.

How much will this cost?

Weekly rates will be $110 per week for 5 days and $70 for 3 days in a week. If necessary, please complete our Financial Assistance form here.

Does my child have to register for every day?

No, we have a 3 day and 5 day option.

How does drop off and pick up work?

For the safety of all children in the program, all children MUST be signed in AND out by a parent/guardian/emergency contact person.  Photo ID must be shown if YMCA staff does not know/recognize you.  So, please be prepared to show ID at all times.

Is lunch available?

Yes, breakfast and lunch will be made available for purchase by the School Food Program. Please indicate whether or not your child will be purchasing breakfast and/or lunch when pre-registering.
