Our youth fitness programs are designed to develop our children into physically strong kids but more importantly into kids of good strong character. The Y’s goal is to provide safe, effective physical activity programs to help keep kids moving while having fun!

Wellness Center Youth/Teen Usage Policy

To ensure the physical and mental well-being of all participants, the minimum age required to work out in the Wellness Center is 10 years old.  All participants ages 10-14 are required to wear a wristband while using the Wellness Center equipment.  Participants are eligible to receive a wristband one they have completed three consultations and demonstrated that they know safe and effective workout techniques.

Participants ages 10-11 may use the Wellness Center under direct supervision (within arm’s reach) of a parent of guardian after completing three wellness consultations.  These participants will receive a white wristband at the Wellness Center desk when they enter.

Participants ages 12-14 may use the Wellness Center alone after completing three Wellness Consultations.  These participants will receive a blue wristband at the Wellness Center desk when they enter.

Wellness Consultations

Our Wellness Coaches will assist you in getting familiar with all of our exercise equipment and program options.  Your Wellness Coach will discuss your wellness goals and help you establish a beginning program.  Three complimentary appointments are available for new and existing members.  Stop by the Wellness Center, or call 484.984.2013 to schedule your first Wellness Consultation.

Small Group Training Classes

The Spring Valley Y offers Teen/Tween Small Group Training classes for ages 11-15.  Small Group Training Programs are specialty classes designed for small groups and high attention, resulting in a form of semi-private training under our class specific outline goals.  In these programs, we strive to create continually varying programs with new, challenging, and functional moves.  Class size is limited and registration is required.  Visit our Small Group Training Classes page for more information and class descriptions.

Group Exercise Classes

Our FREE Group Exercise Classes offer a variety of exercise options and intensities for ages 12 & up.  Instructors may use discretion with youth using bikes or other equipment where size may affect safety.  Visit our Group Exercises Classes page for more information and class descriptions.
