Pre-School

The Columbia North YMCA Child Readiness Center serves children ages 1-5 years.  The classrooms are set up to support individual development beginning with simple and growing to more complex levels of learning.  The Child Readiness staff use the Creative Curriculum which helps children learn through their everyday play activities.  Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00 am-6:00 pm.  Space is limited!  Please call for availability!

The YMCA Child Readiness Center is a licensed, full-day, year round education and care facility, serving children ages 1-5 years of age. The Center has earned a 4 STAR rating through the Keystone STARS program.

Childcare Programs and Rates: *The following rates went into effect on January 1, 2017).

Busy Bees: Young Toddlers (12-24 months):        Full time (5 days): $246/week

Caterpillars: Older Toddlers (24-36 months):        Full time (5 days): $218/week

Wise Owls: PHL Pre-K:                                            Before and After care: $140/week

Ducklings:  3 year old Pre-K Counts:                     Before and After care: $140/week

Rising Stars: 3 – 5 years old Pre-K Counts:          Before and After care: $140/week

The Columbia North YMCA Child Care Center is a subsidy participating agency.  If you feel that you maybe eligible for subsidized childcare, please contact the Child Care office for more information.

DENTAL CARE

Each student enrolled in our Childcare and School Age programs will receive, with parental consent, comprehensive dental care provided by the Oral Health Impact Project.  During a typical visit the dentist will thoroughly clean teeth and gums, examine for cavities and gum disease, demonstrate proper tooth care, schedule a follow up visit if your child needs a filling or other treatment, and refer you to a specialist if necessary.

School Age Child Care

Kids come first in our state licensed After School Care programs offered at the Columbia North YMCA! We are dedicated to building strong kids and communities through our After School Program.

This program is for students grades K—8 and its hours of operation are from school dismissal to 6pm, Monday—Friday. Care is also available for early dismissals, days off and holiday breaks.  The after school program provides students with a well rounded learning experience with a focus on fun, friends, and creativity through supervised activities. Activities include homework assistance, enrichment and interest-driven activity choices, gym/gross-motor movement time, arts & crafts, group games. The students receive a nutritional snack.

Holiday Care

Do you need child care on days school is not in session or on holiday breaks?  Bring your child to Holiday Care!  Your child will socialize and have fun at the same time! Holiday Care hours of operation are 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Lunch is BYO.  The children will enjoy special theme days as well as the occasional trip to the pool.

Philadelphia City Pre-K

Philly Pre-K is a Pre-Kindergarten program for children ages 3 to 5 yrs.  The program is funded by the City of Philadelphia, and is free to children and their families who reside in Philadelphia. Children will benefit from a quality, engaging and developmentally appropriate program that ensures that every child participating is ready to enter school at the appropriate time.
