Christian Street YMCA Wellness Programs

The YMCA health and wellness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities.

YMCA programs and services cut across diverse populations with diverse needs and attempt to take into account the total-health of each person. The YMCA provides a variety of health and wellness programs including exercise and water fitness classes for people and families of all ages, health and wellness seminars, educational classes, personalized training programs, non-competitive youth and adult sports leagues and social opportunities for seniors and families.

All Classes are one hour unless otherwise indicated.

Abs & Glutes

A workout focusing on strengthening the abdominals and lower back. Core muscle training promotes proper posture and movement, aiding in the prevention of injury

 

Aerobics / Total Body Conditioning

This class will help you take your workout to the next level. Using weights, core strength, and mat work combined with cardio bursts, this class works out your total body.

 

Yoga

This beautiful ancient system uses the practice of postures, proper breathing and concentration techniques, which teach the Yoga student to focus on the spirit, mind and body.

 

Line Dancing

This program is design to help you incorporate line dancing into a form of aerobic activity. This fun way of working out helps relieves stress, weight loss and can even sharpen memory skills. Learn basic steps for various dances including Marvin Gay Walk, Personality, Cha-cha Slide and more. No experience necessary.

 

Water Aerobics

Water areobics will have you moving from head to toe and enjoying every second of our intense workouts. The instructor will teach from the water and from the pool desk at times throughout the class.

 

Arthritis Aquatics

Taught in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation, this class focuses on range of movement, joint strength and flexibility. It is also good for those recovering from joint injuries and replacements.

 

Teen Wellness Orientation

All teens, ages 13 - 17, are permitted to use the Wellness Center after they have completed an orientation to the proper use of equipment, as well as guidelines for achieving goals with a YMCA Wellness Coach.

Wellness Orientation

Not familiar with our equipment or have questions about an exercise routine? Let us help you. Meet with a Wellness Coach to discuss your activity interests and exercise needs. Whether it’s to learn how to use the equipment or to just talk about your exercise options at our facility, we’re here to help. Personal Training

This program  is done through a certified instructor. The training is specialized to the participant in a one-to-one setting. It maximizes your ability to reach your goals. Our fitness center is equipped with Professional grade weightlifting and fitness equipment. Fitness center equipped with air conditioning.
