Teen Night

Looking for a fun and safe place for your teen to spend Friday nights?  Look no further!  The teen program is first Friday each month from 7 to 10pm for 7th to 12th graders.  Activities include:  basketball, swimming (7 to 8pm), racquetball (the YMCA supplies the equipment), foosball, pool, double dutch and more.

Tween Night

The Abington YMCA is the place for fun for your pre-teen.  Tweens who are in the 4th to 6th grades can engage in enjoyable and safe activities every 3rd Friday of the month from 6 to 9pm.  Activities include swimming, gymnastics, organized games, PSII, basketball, hockey, arts and crafts and more.

Youth Dance

From ballet to hip-hop, the pre-schooler through 12 year old has many choices of dance to explore and learn.  Dance is a great way to exercise and have fun!

Rollers (Ages 6 - 16)

This Program is the first developmental level of YMCA progressive gymnastics. The skills taught are appropiate for a student taking gymnastics for the first time. Accomplishing the skills for rollers will give the student a positive attitude about physical activity and should motivate the student to continue in gymnastics classes at the next level.

 

 

 

Nerf Hockey (Ages 5 - 7)

Program is designed to focus on having fun in a safe, non-competitive environment while developing basic hockey skills.

 

 

Little Gymers (Ages 6 - 8)

Children participate without the parent in this completely structured and engaging gymnastics class. Strength, flexibility and agility are increased as our teachers continue to introduce new gymnastics skills through circle time andobstacle courses.

 

 

 

Youth Basketball (Ages 5 - 12)

This class is an introduction to basketball for the young basketball lover! Children will enjoy warming up followed by drills, then its game time! Fundamental  basketball skills will be emphasized during every session. Children will be taught the basics of the game and most importantly sportsmanship and team work!!

Karate / Kick Boxing (Ages 4 +)

This new class is designed for children with special needs. Our class will give your child a chance to enjoy the world of martial arts in a smaller group setting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fit FUNdamentals (Ages 8 - 14)

For your 8 to 14 year old goes back to basics to get your child moving.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Training (Personal & Private) (Ages 10+)

If motivation seems to be inhibiting your success in personal fitness, let one of our personal trainers get you back on track.  One hour sessions are available by appointment only.


 

Youth Boot Camp (Ages 8 - 14)

This exercise format focuses on core abdominal strength, body alignment, concentration, and yoga-like stretching.  Pilates creates length in the muscles while building core strength and increasing flexibility.

 

Youth Pilates (Ages 8 - 14)

Total body muscular workout that starts with a high intensity step class and is followed by 50 minutes of major muscle group workout. Our new adjustable barbells, dumbbells and stability balls will assist in making sure every muscle is worked.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tiny Tumblers (Ages 1 - 4)

Children will be introduced to the elements of gymnastics, the balance beam, bars, floor exercise, and the spring board.  This is a fun filled class with music, games, parachute and basic motor skill development.

Kinder Gym (Ages 4 - 5)

Children are now used to the class structure and are mastering basic skills. positive reinforcement and praise begins to be paired with corrections to help them really grow into their gymnastics abilities.
